Clothing for people who live fully, play long, and travel well
When you reach into your closet, there should be something there that reflects who you are, how you feel, and what you value most. There should be something that you can put on in the morning and confidently wear all day long. Something you can throw in your bag and know will work for whatever your journey brings.
prAna is that something.
prAna creates versatile, stylish, and sustainable clothing and accessories that you can wear during every activity, every adventure, every day. How do they know? Because they base their designs on their own experiences. You see they’re more than makers, they're doers—yogis, climbers, and world travelers—and they use our knowledge to make clothes that look good and play hard. They like to focus on the details, and aren’t afraid to go bold when it comes to colors and whimsical patterns. They love to combine classic style with modern materials, ever mindful of where and how their creations are made.
ROOTS
prAna was started in a garage in Carlsbad, California back in 1992. At that time yoga and climbing gear left a lot to be desired, so Beaver and Pam Theodosakis decided to create their own stylish and sustainably made clothes. They sewed the first pieces themselves, labeled them with tags made from homemade recycled paper, and shipped their orders in fruit boxes from local grocery stores.
Today, prAna is still based in Carlsbad. They’re a lot bigger than they used to be, but they continue to follow their core belief that companies like theirs should give much more than they take from the world. Their commitment to sustainability, community, and doing right still inspires and pushes them to find innovative ways to do good things in a good way.
SUSTAINABILITY
prAna goes out of their way to ensure the impact they make on the world is mostly confined to their aesthetic. By using materials and partnering with companies and factories that adhere to strict guidelines for safety and efficacy, they are able to make the beautiful and functional products they love, in a way that they can all feel good about.
